Mini Dessert Soap Challange

You know, I think nearly every soapmaker, from all over the world, (who knows about) would get excited about Amy Warden's Soap Challenges! I have only entered once before this, and only discovered the Challenge a couple of months before that, but I am hooked! Even if I can't enter for some reason, I love looking at all the creativity and designs people come up; coming up with soaps that probably even they didn't know they could achieve! That's the beauty of thinking outside the soap!

I love cupcakes. I love cakes. I love dessert. I love making them out of soap even more! I know they aren’t practical to use, but there is a thrill in making something that looks delicious, and see people’s faces when you tell them what it really is! So I couldn’t pass up this challenge. I was excited to go one step further than just my usual cakes and cupcakes. I wanted to create a mini dessert plate what would have all my kids drooling and wishing I would stop making soap,
and make them the real thing!

All my desserts were made with goat's milk, including the melt and pour which has some added. The chocolate soaps were coloured with unsweetened cocoa powder.

The strawberry, choc dessert was the hardest to get right. The layers were easy enough, it was just getting the choc to stay on the outside. After a few failed attempts (pouring it over and then dipping the slice into it) I fashioned a slightly larger mould and poured the choc all over the slice, so it went down the sides and covered the top….. This is the only dessert made with melt and pour. The other 3 are all made with cold process soap.

TO start, a light, crisply vanilla and strawberry meringue. Just enough to tantalise the taste buds, in preparation for the array of desserts to come!

QUITE simply, no dessert is complete without chocolate, and this 3 layer choc mousse cake will certainly not disappoint!

THIS luscious strawberry mousse delight is coated with a rich, dark chocolate

TO finish, a fresh and light mini mint cupcake. Mint is a popular after-meal refreshment, cool to the mouth and soothing to the stomach.
